The Search for the Haus of Hamilton Begins!
In a tiny village in the Scottish Highlands, you’ll find a beautiful country manor where we gathered our family for a surprise wedding.
We’ve lived in Boston and D.C. And we’ve traveled to Madrid, Manila, Amsterdam and more. But the one place that felt most like home was this beautiful country manor in the Scottish highlands. While Stucktaymore was beautiful and we could not recommend it more (in fact, DM us and we’ll send you a referral code), it wasn’t the house or the property that made this place so special. It was our family!
And that’s how we began putting together the Dream Haus wishlist:
Needs to be reasonably accessible to our respective families and all our friends - that means public transportation and airports need to be nearby!
Needs to have at least one guest room for visitors.
Needs outdoor space for hosting family get-togethers and activities.
Needs to be a good distance from neighbors for said activities.
Needs to have potential for growth - while we’re open to moving again in the future, an option to build would be ideal.
Needs to feel cozy and welcoming and home to our family.
This all translated into the most interesting Zillow search parameters and conversations with realtors during which phrases such as “we don’t care what the actual house looks like” and “we need plenty of space for activities” (*wink wink* - but not really, we’re all about outdoor games). We’ve since seen over 75+ properties and have learned a lot along the way — all of which we’ll be sharing with you in due time.
