Sneak Peek: Lost and Lassoed by Lyla Sage

Lost and Lassoed

by Lyla Sage

A pre-release review of Book #3 of the Rebel Blue Ranch series.

The third installation of the Rebel Blue Ranch series.

I read the first two books of this series — Done and Dusted (Amazon), Swift and Saddled (Amazon) — in a day (and I’m secretly glad I picked them up just months before the release of the third book) because there’s no way I was going to be able to wait patiently for the release of the third.

So grateful I was able to receive an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book via NetGalley.

What Victoria Loved

VICTORIA’S RATING: 4.5/5

Gus and Teddy’s story intrigued me instantly in Done and Dusted (Amazon). We’ve been teased with sizzling banter and tension wound so tight you could bounce a quarter off of it. And finally, FINALLY we get their story.

I’m always so hesitant to have high expectations when I’ve so eagerly awaited a pairing. But friends, let me be the first to tell you: Lyla Sage absolutely delivers with Lost & Lassoed!

Through the first two books, Lyla has hinted at a long history of fiery exchanges between Gus and Teddy. Everyone in the family (heck, the town!) knows that those two can’t be left in the same room together. Well, I was squealing and giggling throughout Lost and Lassoed because all our questions are answered AND THEN SOME.

This love story features soooo many of my favorite tropes: enemies-to-lovers, sibling’s best friend, nanny / single parent, forced proximity, cowboy / rancher. I pretty much picked up this book and knew I was going to love it before I finished the first page.

We know August Ryder is the responsible, broody older brother, carrying the weight of the world and the biggest heart. He’d do anything to protect and take care of his family, especially his daughter. We saw his protective spirit in Done and Dusted, and I’m pretty sure we all swoooooned after him, even if he wasn’t the MMC. On the other hand, Teddy is a troublemaker — a creative free spirit who befriends everyone and is the life of the party, with a history of dragging Emmy along on her irresponsible adventures. It’s no wonder Gus has it out for her. It’s no wonder Gus is gone for her.

I’ll leave it at that so I don’t spoil the magic. That all said, please please read this book so we can chat about it because I am SO eager to discuss.

  • NANNY / SINGLE-PARENT COWBOY: Heartless (Chestnut Springs #2) by Elsie Silver (Amazon)

I’m never one to read book 1 of a series, if I’m drawn to the plot of a book later in the series. And if I'm a fan, I’ll loop back and read from the start. This was the first book I read in the Chestnut Springs series because I was going down a nanny / single-parent rabbit hole and it certainly drew me into Wishing Well Ranch and the Eaton siblings. Broody cowboy dad, age-gap, and a hot tub… need I say more?

  • SINGLE-PARENT SERIES: Wild Love (Amazon) and Wild Eyes (Amazon) by Elsie Silver

This series is so sweet and so far, it’s been all single dads. Hello, DILFs! And the FMCs — one’s his best friend’s little sister, the other is a super star in hiding. The banter is spot-on, the chemistry is on fire, and the scenes are too hot to even touch upon. Let’s just say, the women don’t hold back and the guys hold their own. You’ll be wishing Rose Hill was real so you could shack up in the little cottage and get a piece of the action.

  • NANNY / SINGLE-PARENT: Mr. Masters (Mr. Series #1) by TL Swan (Amazon)

If you read the recommendation right above this, then you might be wondering what would cause one down a nanny / single-parent spiral. Well, here’s your answer: forced proximity, age-gap alpha-hole MMC and two spoiled children who end up melting your heart. This story had me on the edge of my seat anxious that the main characters were going to be caught at every turn… guess that’s what happens when you’re not supposed to fall for your employer / employee, but you’re stuck sharing a home.

    • Done and Dusted (Rebel Blue Ranch #1) by Lyla Sage (Amazon)

An HoH Book Club pick! I devoured this book. Emmy and Luke’s story is so sweet — i just wanted to lock myself away in their little bubble and to feel safe in this circle of trust. When a traumatic event sidelines Emmy, she struggles to get out of her head and move on from the event… until help comes from the most unexpected source.

    • Swift and Saddled (Rebel Blue #2) by Lyla Sage (Amazon)

Meet and fall in love with a FMC who learns to love herself, a town, a group of friends, and a man with a dream. Ada and Wes are embarking on a new venture — a clean slate, a fresh start. And what complements a new beginning better than a little love interest? The answer: He. falls. first.
