Sneak Peek: Wild and Wrangled by Lyla Sage
ON OUR BOOKSHELF
Wild and Wrangled
by Lyla Sage
A pre-release review of Book #4 of the Rebel Blue Ranch series.
It’s here! The final installation (for now, maybe? Hopefully not!) of the Rebel Blue Ranch series: Cam & Dusty’s second-chance romance.
I have not shied away from my adoration of this series. Done and Dusted (Book #1) was the HoH Book Club Pick for October 2024, and I only have the best things to say about Lost and Lassoed (Book #3). So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that I’ve somehow wrangled an Advanced Reader’s Copy of the final book in the Rebel Blue Ranch series via NetGalley, and I am over the moon excited to share this with y’all!
Buckle up, friends! Lyla delivers.
The Sneak Peek
Cam and Dusty’s story was teased in Swift and Saddled (Book 2) when Dusty accidentally shows up to Girls Night. Although his cameo was short-lived, it was immediately obvious that there was a story there — even though Cam wore another man’s ring on her finger.
*Cue the start of Wild and Wrangled*
When her groom doesn’t show up to their wedding, Cam’s perfectly devised plan crumbles. And she starts to wonder if she’s every bit the disappointment her parents have spent her life telling her she is.
But as days pass, Cam finds that the clean slate she’s been handed might be exactly what she needed. And it isn’t as daunting with the support of her friends.
She’s never been afraid of a challenge or taking on a long list of tasks. In fact, that sounds exactly up her alley. But with her parents’ shadows looming over her, serving as a reminder of her failures and shortcomings, Cam realizes she needs to overcome her insecurities if she can really start fresh for her and her daughter. And that includes revisiting her past with Dusty.
What Victoria Loved
VICTORIA’S RATING: 4/5
Admittedly, I struggle with second-chance romances. It always breaks my heart when people miss out on the opportunity to be loved and to love their person / people. Time is the one thing we cannot control and all I want is for people to be able to enjoy each other as much as they can during the limited time we have together.
So knowing this is a second-chance romance already made me hesitant to pick this up. But it’s a Lyla book, and I do love Rebel Blue Ranch.
But this second-chance romance is a redemption for a first-love that was too big at the wrong time. Lyla will draw you in and tug at your heartstrings, planting seeds to pull at your curiosity, lure you into craving answers to understand how a love so seemingly big went so wrong. All while simultaneously weaving Cam and Dusty’s past and present, into the most tender and heartwarming romance.
While I ached for the time they lost, I was thankful for the chance to once again be grateful that James and I know the privilege of having friendship as the foundation for our relationship. And that we’re so fortunate to be surrounded by friends and family who will pick us up when we’re down and lift us up even higher every day.
If ever there was a book that demonstrated the beauty of found family, friendship and fresh starts, THIS. IS. IT.

Craving another charming small-town romance? Head to Chestnut Springs, where you’ll meet friends and siblings who are every bit as chaotic and wonderful as the crew from Rebel Blue. Reckless is a stand-alone romance, but you might want to start from Book 1 for the full context because this western romance is full of surprises (*wink*) and a whole lotta cowboy.

A SECOND CHANCE FEATURING MORE HAND-WRITTEN LETTERS: PS: I Hate You by Lauren Connolly (Amazon)
Transparently, I picked up this book because of the cover… I was not at all prepared for the emotional destruction that ensued, but when the story opens on a funeral, well that should have been warning enough. Through his will, Josh (the deceased) grants a second chance to Maddie (his sister) and Dom (his best friend), but there might be wounds too deep to repair. This is your warning that your heart will swell, your stomach will swoop, your inner traveler will twitch to book a trip, and your tear ducts will run dry. You’ll want to grab your loved ones and hold them tight.

Lost and Lassoed (Rebel Blue #3) by Lyla Sage (Amazon)
This love story features soooo many of my favorite tropes: enemies-to-lovers, sibling’s best friend, nanny / single parent, forced proximity, cowboy / rancher. I pretty much picked up this book and knew I was going to love it before I finished the first page. Read my Sneak Peek.
